Climate Action Africa launches initiative to develop climate risk management framework with AECF

AECF is providing support to Sunken's work on manufacturing and marketing clean cookstoves, through AECF's Kakuma Kalobeyei Challenge Fund (in support of refugees hosted by the government of Kenya). People traditionally use wood or charcoal for cooking but Sunken and AECF are building a factory in this refugee camp. The project has improvements in health through air quality, forest protection (reduction of use of wood) and generates employment.

As temperatures rise globally, extreme climate events such as droughts, cyclones, floods and heatwaves continue to negatively affect the entire African continent’s economy and society, particularly the key agricultural sector – which is having an acute impact on small businesses across the continent.
