Overview

  • This technical assistance proposed by the Government of Mozambique to support achievement of NDC target.
  • It aims at supporting Strategies for Restoration of Degraded Agricultural Landscapes in the Southern Zone of Mozambique that have been exposed to shifting cultivation through slash and burn activities.
  • The long-term objective it to revitalize the degraded landscapes and increase the productivity of agricultural lands to improve the livelihoods of  local vulnerable communities, women and youth.
  • The specific objectives are (i) Enhance local capacity in climate smart agriculture and landscape restoration through training of technicians, communities and extensionists (ii) Generate resource materials and develop guidelines for implementation of climate Smart agriculture including crop suitability and institutional frameworks (iii) Identify opportunities for crop product value addition to diversify and enhance farm income (iv) Develop a road map for implementation to demonstrate the adaptation and mitigation values of the technical support.

    • The total budget for this work will not exceed CAD $ 250,000 (excluding all applicable taxes for companies registered in Canada. For companies registered internationally, all applicable taxes must be included in the total budget) including all allowable costs associated with the on-the-ground and remote activities in scope of work.
