The Expert Deployment Mechanism – Climate Action Africa (EDM‑CAA) recently concluded its four‑part webinar series, Stronger Governance, Resilience & Inclusion, highlighting concrete results, insights, and lessons learned from salient climate action initiatives across Sub‑Saharan Africa.
Funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented through a consortium led by Alinea International, Econoler, and WSP, the EDM‑CAA project supports African partners in strengthening climate governance, advancing mitigation and adaptation efforts, and promoting women’s leadership in climate action. Active in 34 countries and across 42 technical assistance initiatives, the project Canadian and International expertise leading to enhance the abilities of Sub-Saharan organisations, communities and governments to respond more effectively to real‑world climate challenges, including implementation of the Paris Agreement and the UNFCCC Gender Action Plan.
Over four 90‑minute sessions, experts and partners shared practical experiences, in‑country impacts, and stories of change that demonstrate how technical assistance is improving policies, resilience, and inclusive participation in climate solutions. The series culminated a women’s leadership in climate session commemorating International Women’s Day 2026.

Looking Ahead
The EDM‑CAA webinar series demonstrated how collaborative, adaptive, and inclusive approaches can accelerate climate action across Africa. By sharing evidence‑based results and fostering dialogue between experts, governments, and partners, the series contributes to stronger programming and deeper global partnerships for climate resilience. Thanks to the over 450 individuals who registered to the webinar series and to the nearly 200 attendees interested in climate action in Sub-Saharan Africa.
