Supporting the Climate Negotiating Workshop in Togo

In April, the Women Environmental Programme (WEP) held a workshop to strengthen the capacity of south-south negotiators.

Participants from 13 Sub-Saharan African countries engaged in training with a shared objective to advance women’s participation in climate change actions at national, regional and global levels.

Women from Sub-Saharan Africa learned about the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiating process and were equipped with the skills and understanding to strengthen and synergize with the African Group of Negotiators.

Funded by Global Affairs Canada, Climate Action Africa supports results-oriented South-South knowledge exchanges between Sub-Saharan Africa to facilitate the exchange of climate-related knowledge, expertise and lessons learned, and strengthen South-South networks.

South-South Cooperation is a key tool for governments, NGOs and the private sector to collaborate and share knowledge, skills, expertise and resources on addressing specific issues, including climate change.
