Joëlle Matte is a gender and climate expert with over 12 years of experience in international development, including a seven-year proven track record of experience working on gender equality and climate. She specializes in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, national energy, and climate policy framework assessment, developing gender strategies and action plans, and presenting findings concisely and efficiently through reports and presentations. Joëlle has worked in the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and small island states in the Caribbean and Pacific regions. Based in Montréal, Canada, Joëlle is passionate about assessing the gender-differentiated impacts and opportunities related to climate change and supporting governments and civil society organizations to address them through gender-sensitive policies, programmes, and training. She has substantial experience conducting gender analysis at the sectoral and organizational levels and developing recommendations to address the gender gaps. Joëlle holds a master’s degree in international relations from Laval University.
