LEADSEA Home – Lead Sea – a national entity born out of the global Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) network. Founded in 1991 in anticipation of the UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), commonly known as the Earth Summit, LEAD has been at the forefront of addressing sustainable development challenges for over three decades.
LEAD Southern and Eastern Africa (LEAD SEA) stands as a pivotal regional program operating from Zomba, Malawi, with a mandate spanning countries such as Malawi, Zambia, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe, contributing significantly to environmental leadership and sustainable development efforts across the region. Recognized as a national entity, LEAD SEA’s influence extends beyond its regional borders, with affiliations with key regulatory bodies such as the NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA), the Council for Non-Governmental Organizations in Malawi (CONGOMA), and the Civil Society Network on Climate Change (CISONECC), reinforcing its role in advancing environmental and developmental agendas on a local scale.
