The Ministry of Green Economy and Environment and the Department of Forestry, Government of Zambia
The Department of Forestry is responsible for executing government policies on forestry, including supervising community forest management groups nationwide. It also engages communities, promotes environmental sustainability, and ensures local voices are incorporated into project planning and execution. The departments work together to strengthen community resilience, support women’s livelihoods, and promote sustainable forest management practices that help combat climate change. The Forest Department, in collaboration with the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment and in coordination with the CAA, will guide the development of the strategic approach and oversee the implementation of project activities.
