The MoINRE of São Tomé and Príncipe is responsible for overarching environmental issues in the country. Within the ministry, the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, coordinates and executes policies and strategies related to climate change and other environmental challenges.
The key stakeholders to be engaged in this initiative include the Ministry of Infrastructure, Natural Resources, and Environment, local authorities, conservation groups, and communities including women and youth, as well as other vulnerable and marginalized groups. Other important stakeholders are representatives of relevant sectors, such as agriculture, fisheries, tourism, and forestry. The Ministry will be responsible for guiding the development of the strategic approach and providing overall oversight, guidance and direction for implementing TA activities. It will also ensure that the deliverables align with the TOR requirements.
