Please note:

The Government of Canada has, through Climate Action Africa successfully confirmed the deployment of 45 technical assistance deployments across 24 countries, contributing to enhanced climate ambition, emissions reductions, increased resilience, and strengthened gender outcomes. While expert deployments will continue over the next 12 months, we are no longer accepting new applications for support. We appreciate your interest and engagement and look forward to sharing key insights and outcomes in the year ahead.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Climate Action Africa supports the provision of direct technical assistance and capacity building, including participation in meetings or training related to technical assistance.

Climate Action Africa also supports capacity building and knowledge sharing activities. Climate Action Africa does not provide financial support.

 

CAA Deployments

Climate Action Africa (CAA) Supporting Sub-Saharan Africa’s Climate Action

  • All support is aligned with the country’s Nationally Determined Contribution, National Adaptation Plan, Technology Needs Assessment or other relevant climate strategies and policies.
  • Deployments are gender-responsive and aligned with Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.
  • Learn about our gender-responsive and socially inclusive approach here.
  • Due consideration to gender issues and the situation of vulnerable populations, including women and men are central to CAA deployments. For further guidance, please refer to the Project Gender Strategy.
  • CAA is supporting government agencies and non-governmental organizations from Sub-Saharan Africa, including gender-responsive and women-led organizations, the private sector, post-secondary institutions and more.
