The African Working Group on Gender and Climate Change (AWGGCC) was established in 2013 at the Third Climate Change and Development in Africa conference. Its role is to coordinate and provide leadership for Africa’s engagement in the regional and global gender and climate change processes. The AWGGCC has since participated in several meetings at the regional and international levels relating to gender and climate change and the formulation of Sustainable Development Goals.
